Walking Sticks – A Money Making Hobby
Rubbing sticks is not intended as a money making hobby for me.I have sometimes done when the backpack, and I had always been fun to see my pocket knife, a piece of wood that could be done. I had not thought about doing something more with the fans.
One summer when my wife Ana and I briefly in the business of flea market, I noticed an occasional vendor selling walking sticks. If the event is more an art than a flea market and craft show, selling as much as $ 50. The analysis indicated that sell them, so I went to work.
I could cut 20 or young poplars looked at an hour with my “shortcut”, and two sticks of half of them. My favorite was the white cedar. In cedar swamps in the vicinity of his home, was young and died of overpopulation. Remains of solid cedar for many years after death, so I could quickly reduce many sticks perfectly straight and dry.
Soon there was a lot of chips of wood behind the house, and cut the peel and cut each stick in different ways. Many of them had finished in the top. Others cut in a spiral or pyramid. I can use some padding and perforated leather upper for other gemstones. This is a hobby that you really have your imagination.
I wrapped the leather sticks on the bottom to prevent breakage, and most also have tried to learn. The leather comes from the old cut leather jackets that I bought second hand stores for $ 5 each and cut into strips. Is attached with glue and small nails. Each suit of fifty cents on the materials had the majority.
Which sold for only $ 6 per order of up to $ 24. This was less than others sold walking sticks, but were mostly sold them at flea markets, rather than art and craft exhibitions, where they have a higher price. Also sells all saled from a supplier that shows them at gunpoint and knife, and a friend, who sells Native American Pow-awesome.
How much can you sell, the cane? Who knows. I sold over $ 1,200 in hives this summer before we moved an internet business to try. They were a good complement to our office and stuffed animals that have been sold at various flea markets. My advantage was that I was very efficient in what they spend less than an hour, until most extensive.
The most sold at $ 250 sticks in a day. But I’ve seen sellers pay the rent to $ 300 per room for the weekend (usually pay $ 10 per day for an area flea market) and sells golf clubs only. They were undoubtedly selling much more than me, but at least do something you enjoy and make a profit is a major advantage of a hobby to make money.
